Innovative Future Web Design

Any observant regular visitors will have noticed that this “Articles” part of the sites has gone through a few changes over the last couple of weeks. Some of them have been obvious-and some of them have been more subtle background changes-I’d be surprised if even the most observant will have spotted these as they were unapologetically backend changes aimed at making my life easier. It’s also one of the reasons why no new articles have been published in the last couple of week (tame excuse I know!)

We’ve gone through a couple of new looks. The first was the lovingly home baked “Pancake Day”, sort of obvious that it was inspired by pancakes (the colours, textures and general warmth not just round blobs of batter on the screen) which I must admit I was pretty pleased with-but once I got over the smugness I plain wasn’t 100% satisfied with it and haven’t had the time to spend making the liitle tweaks and twiddles I wanted to so went back to the drawing board and went in search of someone else’s I could use on a temporary basis under a GPL licence (I’m English-that’s how we spell it). Then in one of my net “wanders” I inadvertently tripped over IfElse and Phu’s A-theme-a-Day project. What a great idea-and I’ve gotta add-a pretty big challenge to for his precious “spare” time outside his day job. In a nutshell he decided “to design and give away a WP theme ready for you to use on your blog.”

Admittedly it’s not unusual for some of the great people in the Wordpress community to release their own themes but it is to do 6 in a week! Well-all kudos to Phu-he did it-and they’re great looking themes to. So the site is currently on his Bosa theme and I really like it alot. I also really really like Emire to and wanted to use it but it needed too much tweaking to get into our style in the time I had-that’s no reflection on Phu’s theme though. Both are such elegant, clean, simple, and to quote Phu yet again “calm” and “tranquil” designs I couldn’t resist using them, and showing them off for him, for now at least.

There are a few other changes to but I’ll post more about those later.
